New Mexico PBS/KNME-TV, a department of the University of New Mexico, is seeking a Sr. Broadcast Technology Tech to join our RF engineering team. Under minimal supervision, this position executes and/or coordinates the design, installation and maintenance of all remote television transmitters, as well as all unstaffed station translator sites and satellite sites distributed across the broadcasting area of the University`s public television station, KNME-TV.

This position will develop, manage and coordinate construction projects and oversee ongoing technical operations for the station`s transmission network, as well as maintaining documentation in accordance with FCC regulations and University policies and procedures. This position has an expectation of being available in the event of equipment malfunction requiring emergency repairs. This position requires knowledge of broadcast system circuitry design/installation, as well as the ability to inspect, repair and maintain electrical equipment and facilities.

Must be able to use hand and power tools and follow safety best practices. This position will be expected to climb towers up to 180` using best safety practices. Tower climbing safety training provided.

  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver`s license is a requirement for this job.
  • Must obtain certification within one (1) year date of hire.
  • Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
