General Rules and Eligibility
Any staff member of a NMBA member broadcast station within the state of New Mexico is eligible to submit entries. All entries must be uploaded on NMBA website. Each entry will be invoiced for a $35 processing fee.
Stations must compete in only one division across all entries. Stations may choose to participate in the division based on their market size or the next higher division. Stations may not compete in lower divisions. Radio entries must have been broadcast within the past 12 months, ending March 31 of the current year. Television entries must have been broadcast within the past calendar year. Individual acheivement awards may not be awarded to the same individual in different divisions. (i.e., DJ Personality cannot be awarded to the same person in Division 1 and Division 2) Entries are limited to three per category and must be submitted as originally broadcast (unless otherwise noted).
Student entries must be submitted by a referring teacher or member station of a New Mexico educational institution.
Metro Radio: Albuquerque
Large Market Radio: Las Cruces, Santa Fe, Roswell, Farmington
Medium Market Radio: Alamogordo, Clovis, Hobbs, Carlsbad, Gallup
Small Market Radio: Los Alamos, Las Vegas, Deming, Portales, Artesia, Silver City, Espanola, Lovington, Socorro, Grants, Ruidoso, T or C, Raton, Belen, Tucumcari, Taos, Santa Rosa, Clayton, Questa, Chama, Magdelena
Television Market: Albuquerque, Farmington, Las Cruces
To ensure objectivity, the NMBA enlist broadcast experts from outside the state from markets of similar size. Those professionals evaluate all entries based on the criteria listed in the category descriptions. There will be one winner in each category. The decision of the judges is final.
